The ARBORADIX® tool used in combination with the ARBOTOM® creates a digital map of the roots of a tree by using audio sensors to map the stress wave patterns of the roots.
The ARBORADIX® is an instrument for locating roots through dirt, pavement, sidewalks, or roads.
The unit is connected to a computer via bluetooth.
One by one, the sensors around the tree measure the time it takes an impulse to travel through the wood and reach the other sensors.
One of the sensors is connected to a steel pole that will measured the stress waves that travel along the roots creating line-graphs. The collected data is simultaneously sent to a computer.
The software turn the data into a grid root paths of the tree. The ARBORIX data is analized and interpreted. The measurement results are clearly visualized in a graphic form that shows the root paths of the tree.
* Prevents future root damage in constructions or urban areas repairs.
* Determines if a tree root could potentially cause damage to a properties, structures, foundations, walkways, and driveways.
* Can determine if damage was done to the root system from trenching, digging, and/or other machinery use during construction.
